Halloween Month - Be prepared, be very prepared!
We’re halfway through October! Time to carve pumpkins, whack on the scary movies, indulge in some sweet treats and get creative in the kitchen! Whether you are hosting an epic fancy dress party, entertaining the kids or just geeking out over one of the best times of the year (us!) we are here to provide some inspiration for a spine-chilling Halloween feast!! From spooky party snacks and bevs to freaky kids dinners and desserts, we’ve killed it!
Severed Finger Hot Dogs
This low effort spooky snack might have your guests screaming in fear but one bite and they'll be under your spell! Leon Chilli Ketchup packs a hot punch to your bog-standard tomato ketchup, spicing up a simple hot dog. Simply carve out the sausage so that it resembles a finger and be generous with this delicious red sauce. It’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser!
Bloody Drinks have done all the hard work for us with their pre-mixed canned Classic Bloody Mary, just serve over ice in a tall glass with a stick of celery or even straight out the chilled can! Take a box of 12 over to a friend’s spooky fancy dress party and the best bit is if you spill your drink, no one will know the difference!
Just look at this terrifying spaghetti...because it’s looking at you! For this, we used black bean spaghetti, plant-based cream cheese, black olives and Bay’s Kitchen Tomato + Basil Stir-In Sauce. Bays Kitchen sauces are vegan and low FODMAP as well as being free from gluten, dairy, additives and preservatives, so ironically, they contain none of the scary stuff. It may be you that gets a fright, but not your digestive system!
Terrifying Tutti-Fruity Tart
One for the Tim Burton fans - this giant jam tart is so delicious, playfully sinister and incredibly easy to make with only two ingredients! Just get some ready roll shortcrust pastry, carve out your design; anything from a bat or a grimacing pumpkin face to your favourite spooky character! The star of the show is the Rogue Tutti Frutti Jam centre! Top tip - get even more Rogue in Blood Orange & Vanilla, Dark & Stormy and Negroni Marmalade to make a variety of mini-tarts in different flavours!
Spooky Spider Cookies
It's frightening how good these are! Doisy & Dam Ballers make the best decorations for Halloween themed bakes! Melt some chocolate to stick on two Ballers per cookie or cake, then pipe on eight terrifying gangly chocolate legs and you’ve got yourself a simple but creepy, deadly-delicious spider! Head over to this post on our Instagram, @MightySmallUK, for our incredibly easy and delicious vegan cookie recipe!
Not forgetting the most important bit...the treats! Check out our Snacks & Treats category to feed all your wants and needs! Plus don’t forget to tag us on instagram in your spooky creations using Mighty Small goodies! Have a great Halloween from us!
